Website Design Process in Hertfordshire
I keep the website design process as simple and easy for you as possible. I aim to develop rewarding business relationships and create a valuable user experience for your website viewers.
I follow a standard design process when creating web sites. I've outlined it here so you can see how it works...
- Complete brief
To begin your enquiry, I require a complete design brief outlining your project. To help things along, I have created a blank brief for you, if you don't have your own. You can download the blank design brief from here
Website Design Brief
The design brief is a crucial part of ensuring the project turns out the way you want it to, it gives both you and I the reference point to focus on as the design and build of your website takes shape. The more information and guidance you can provide me with, the better. Assume I know nothing about the area of expertise you operate in and make it as clear as possible for us both to truly understand what you are aiming for. Taking a look at your competitors is always a good place to start when looking for inspiration.
I have two versions of my template design brief. The PDF one you can print, fill in by hand and post to me. The other is in Word format so you can edit it, save it and sent to me by email. The mailing address and email address are printed on the relevant documents.

- Agree price and timeline
I receive your brief and call you to discuss your requirements, the cost and deadline of the project.
- Sign contract
Once we have agreed on the timeline and the cost of your project, we both sign a contract of services so all parties are aware of their responsibilities to ensure the project goes as planned. This is for your protection as well as mine.
- Draft site built
I roll up my sleeves and get stuck in to building a draft site. This is a version of your site without your text and images added as yet. It's purpose is to create the structure, look and feel of your website.
- Draft review and amend
The draft site is presented to you for review, this is where you get to list any changes, tweaks or shoe-horning you would like me to do.
- Draft approved
Now I've carried out your listed amendments, you are now happy with the draft website. The hardest part is over!
- Content added
Next your text and images are inserted into the approved draft to create your final website.
- Final site review and amend
Just like with the draft site, the final site is handed over to you to cast a critical eye over and list any minor changes or touchups you desire.
- Final site approved and go live
Your final site is ready, it's got the thumbs up from you and is now online for the whole world to see!
I will deliver to you a website that is completely bespoke, hand-built to the highest level of craftmanship. A website both you and I can be proud of!
